Melissa is an associate in the Litigation Department. Melissa concentrates her practice in the areas of complex commercial litigation, commercial insurance claims and coverage disputes, financial institution litigation and employment litigation.
Melissa is involved in several professional and charitable organizations. Melissa serves on the Board of Directors for Volunteers of America Delaware Valley, a non-profit organization that annually serves the needs of over 11,000 men, women and children in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware by offering temporary and long-term affordable housing, assisting those that are struggling with chronic mental illness, domestic violence and alcohol and drug addiction, and assisting ex-offenders in finding employment. Melissa is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Women in the Profession Committee and the State Civil Section. Melissa is also a trained mediator and serves as an arbitration panelist for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Trial Division.
Prior to joining the firm, Melissa was an associate at a large law firm in Princeton, New Jersey, where she focused her practice on commercial litigation. Melissa served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Neil H. Shuster, Presiding Judge of General Equity in Mercer County, New Jersey. She also served as an intern for the Honorable Jack M. Sabatino of the New Jersey Superior Court Appellate Division.
Melissa received her law degree in 2003 from Rutgers-Camden School of Law, where she served as Chairperson of the Honorable James Hunter III Advanced Moot Court Competition and received a pro bono award for her dedication to the Rutgers Bankruptcy Clinic. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington. Melissa is admitted to the Bars of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. |
